This week I was catching up on some paperwork and discovered, once

again, the importance of having the right tools for the job. I was out of both ink cartridges in a lockdown.  For some reason, in my head, this lockdown stopped even online orders.  I got them eventually but it just made me more aware of the lack of freedom.

In school we had to get tools when we started training.  The selection was enough to carry a

student through the course.  Once you left, however, you definitely had to upgrade.  A non-professional clipper can only cut so many heads before heating up.  Cheap shears also only go so far.  A trip to a hair show made you feel like a kid in a candy store. Unfortunately, you come to realize you can only buy so many combs without seeming weird.

When you cannot do the work you need right away is when you see the importance of having the right tools for the job. Some rely on the goodness of other people but it is the mark of a professional when you provide your own.  It is an investment for the future that keeps paying back.
